More than 100 families helped this year

Over the last 8 weeks Furniture Helpline has helped over 100 families with free or low cost furniture and white goods.  Diane Page, our Operations Manager, says ‘we are pleased to be able to help so many people who are on low incomes or suffering a short term crisis’.

Free packs of furniture and white goods go to families who have been referred to Furniture Helpline by local agencies like Social Services or the CAB.

‘Many of our clients suffer from mental health issues or are on low incomes and need support to get their lives together’.  Says Diane.  ‘Our most recent client was a man who had been homeless. He has been given a council flat so is able to care for his young son who has learning difficulties.  Having been homeless he had no furniture so we delivered a pack of furniture for him and his son’.

Diane says ‘We are thankful to the many local residents who kindly donate their unwanted furniture and white goods that are always in very good condition’.
