Established in 1994, The Furniture Helpline was
set up to support low-income families in North
East Hampshire, Waverley in Surrey and West
Sussex by redistributing previously owned, good
condition furniture and electrical appliances at
affordable prices.
When
you next want to upgrade your furniture or
electrical appliances, The Furniture Helpline
will collect your unwanted, good condition
stuff, recondition and safely test it, and then
offer it for sale at really low prices. We'll
sell to anyone who wants to buy, and for those
on income support, there are even lower prices
because they're the reason the Helpline exists.
Last
year The Furniture Helpline supported in excess
of 2000 people by reusing over 4,000 items
including 800 beds, 160 cookers, 168 washing
machines and substantial amounts of other
furniture and household goods.
We
also provide training for the long term
unemployed together with removal and house
clearance services for our core clients.
A
registered charity, The Furniture Helpline
doesn't aim to make a financial profit, but
cover our costs and make enough money to be able
to keep going. So it's easy to see why The
Furniture Helpline is always on the lookout for
Volunteers without whom none of our services
would be possible. If you can help in our
warehouse, deliver or collect goods, answer the
phones or help with our fund raising efforts,
we'd love to hear from you.
